All Things Microsoft > Microsoft Hardware
Single Video Game System
preacher:
Im pissed. In a perfect world there wouldnt be three different video game systems that each offered very good games. There would be only one. I own a Nintendo GameCube and a Sony PlayStation 2 and was not making any plans to buy an xbox ever, until I saw that Crazy Taxi 3 was coming out on it. Pissed me off too. I love Cray Taxi so now I want to spend another $200 on another system. This is nuts. Why cant there just be one system with games released only for it?
Calum:
actually if there was only one, there would be a monopoly, the stuff would be overpriced and under par, and anybody who wanted to use a console would be forced into compliance at any cost.
preacher:
The truth sucks but you are right Calum. I just wish I could get all the games I want without spending a small fortune on video game systems.
grif_mcrenolds:
The XBOX is nothing but an PIII 700 PC in a fancy case. Granted, $200 is very cheap for such a PC, but just look at its track record. Since the box's recent birth, Microsoft has been shipping out defective systems to retailers.
quote: As Neo Neko stated in the DivX.com forums...
The big problem with the Xbox is that it is not upgradable. A PC based solution is. We have sold so many Xbox units only to have them returned because there are hardware probllems. So the hardware inside is not quality. In fact the last batch of Xbox we got did not have a working one in the bunch!

You wanna know a way to get an XBOX you can upgrade? Buy a PC with a Pentium 700 Mhz and Windows 2000. Same crappy system, only now you can replace the defective hardware. ;)
sporkme:
i don't remember where but i saw a computer with almost every video game system cleanly incorperated into the case, atari included.
i kinda like all the wires everywhere around the room myself
