Oh why oh why am I a prick?

I dont know but as many know the practice of linking to the picture has been gaining on the forum lately because even if the picture is small enough for 56k users to be un-lagged it's a common courtesy to link to the pic...

Yes.. I am a prick...

And Refalm, sweet fucking work on the pictures!  :D

Why do you guys talk shit about .NET, something you obviously know nothing about, or you would see what a great innovation it is.

because it is shit

This is from another MB that brought up .Net:

Ok, I personally love Windows XP and Office XP, so I am not Mr. Anti-Microsoft, but wait till you see what I have to say...

I voted DUMP MS!

I DO NOT want my PC to run apps from off a server, period. I want all my applications here, on MY hard drive. If it's mine, I want it within my grasp. It's like my PC is over my friends house, yet it's still my PC, I'll just connect to it remotely, yea.

If in the future all apps are run off a server, what if your internet dies? What if you can't pay for fast internet? You're screwed.

Why pay monthly when you can pay at once? Paying once WILL ALWAYS be cheaper than paying monthly/yearly, period. Did you buy your cable modem or do you rent it? This .Net and running apps off a server is basically RENTING apps to me, not owning them and using them, you're paying per month to use them. I DO NOT want to pay per month to use MS Word.

Why have an app depend on more than it needs to? Instead of an app depending on your OS and HD, you now throw in your internet, which is usually the weakest link of a PC (think AOL people, because 666 billion people can't be wrong)

If I can isolate my computer from everything except for electricity and be able to still use it, it's a useful computer. But the way MS see's it, I now have to keep it connected online 24/7. I don't want to make my PC depend on anything more than it has to.

Also, we ALL know MS = NO Security. What happens when we run MS Word off a MS server and someone hacks it? Can you imagine what havoc the hacker could inflict on all the PCs that use Word? EVERYONE uses Word just about, then once that hacker hacks that server, time to run like mad.

Oh, now MS gets to supervise what you do with their software on their servers aswell. You're running Word off their server, they will be watching in some form to "Prevent malticulous activities". What a bunch of bull.

So now we are renting apps from a source outside our control and outside our computer and paying monthly for it. Yea, we really are moving foreward here.

If MS really does do this, MS can kiss my butt, I'm going Mac or Linux, and I will do so with a PASSION. I will learn Linux and keep my independence from a company that likes to spread their butt cheeks all over the place and leave skid marks.

What next? Bread XP and Door Knob .Net?

Yes I know, it's a very scary thought. We will soon not be able to run an application on our hard-drives, because all the applications must be streamed from an ASP (application service provider).
Microsoft gives all the technology for this thing, so  it's basicly: "internet? oh wait, you mean .NET" in a few years.
Something must be done in a few years, because were all going to be assimilated by Microsoft if something doesn't happen.

Oh and, Windows XP drone #5225982375, .NET isn't an innovation, it's Microsoft trying to assimilate the web for their own.
