this has probably been raised by someone, but I saw, (damn i lost the link!) that Microsoft tried to completely buy out Nintendo in 99, after being turned down when they tried to buy Sega in 98, can you imagine the brand....MS/Nintendo :-(
MS must die, sooner rather that later!

I saw the book they mention in Barnes and Noble, it's by a guy called Takahashi, and seems to be pro M& story behind the X-box. What's more it seems to be suggesting that M$ have, in some way redefined the gaming industry with this contraption - My question  is how? What is redefining about selling a shrunk basic computer with an outdated and reduced operating system, to play games, that apparently look much the same as any computer ( to be honest I have seen the X-box in action, and I can't see why anyone would think it is special, especially when Nintendo and Playstation have such wonderful products on the market already.

MS only had a couple of good ideas when they decided to make the xbox. One was the inclusion of a built in hard drive. As I sit here and look at my PS2 with 2 full memory cards, I wish I didnt have to go through and delete old games to make space for new ones. Not to mention that if I remove the cards I am likely to lose them. The other good idea they had was to integrate network support, but this idea isnt at all original since the dreamcast included a modem. Other than these things, I havent seen any truly innovative games and it seems that MS will lose the battle against Sony and Nintendo.

If Microsoft had bought Nintendo they would have made it even better than it was.  As it is, the gamecube is quite a retarded device.  Go XBOX!
