"Xbox
While Belluzzo was president, Microsoft introduced the Xbox in North America, where sales reached the high end of targets. He also helped plan strategy for marketing the unprofitable Xbox in Japan and Europe, where analysts say sales have fallen short of their expectations.

Microsoft has yet to get Nokia Oyj, Motorola Inc. or Siemens AG, the top three cell phone makers, to use its mobile software in their handsets. Microsoft also scaled back its Ultimate TV, which
has yet to gain acceptance in a market dominated by rival digital television devices made by Tivo Inc. and Sonicblue Inc.

Microsoft hit snags in selling software that runs interactive television, as plans by AT&T Corp. and Charter Communications Inc. to deliver cable gear that uses Microsoft programs have been put on hold. Microsoft has only one cable customer using its software: PT Multimedia SGPS SA's TV Cabo unit in Portugal.

Microsoft is counting on the adoption of its products in all kinds of consumer devices to help drive the success of .Net and jump-start revenue growth. Sales of PCs, about 95 percent of which
run on Microsoft's Windows programs, dropped last year for the first time since 1985.

Belluzzo may have had a tough time finding a place in Microsoft's executive culture, which is dominated by founders Bill Gates, now chairman and chief software architect, and Ballmer, investors said."

LOL!!!

"Since the Xbox's release on Feb. 22, Microsoft has sold about 165,000 units, falling one third short of its goal to sell out of its 250,000 initial shipment by now, Media Create Co., a Japanese research company, said. The sales figures are based on a nationwide survey of retailers and video-rental stores."

165,000 in a month. Yowser, terrible.

"Tokyo, April 4 (Bloomberg) -- Microsoft Corp.'s bid to unseat Sony Corp. as Japan's No. 1 video-game console maker is a flop, forcing the company to consider cutting the price of its Xbox
