Does Knoppix work with zip drives? (parallel and/or USB)

My dad forgot the password to his XP comp...needs to reinstall. He doesn't want to lose everything though. I figured I would boot to Knoppix and move his stuff to Zip disks. I just need to know if it will work.

I'm going to convince him to install Linux...
