Microsoft Steps in it Again
« on: 15 October 2002, 11:21 »
They're at it again. Upset with Apple and their latest ad campaign, M$ has tried to fight back with advertising featuring folks who ditched their Macs for PCs running Winderz. Unfortunately, there was just one little problem:
quote:
Red-faced executives at Microsoft Corp. on Monday pulled a breezy advertisement purportedly by a free-lance writer who switched to using Windows software from the rival Macintosh, amid questions about whether the woman actually exists.
Apparantly they couldn't find anyone who legitimately made such a switch. So they tried to fake it. WHUDDA SURPRISE!

Seems they never learn. Just as they had all those letters sent to the state attorneys general, protesting the anti-Trust suit, from such places as "Tucson, Utah", and from folks who'd been dead for 20 years. Get the whole story from: Yahoo News

Another great Ballmer idea?  :D
