How could they do this to me?

Let's see. How many discs would it take if you installed a couple of copies of Windows XP Server, Office XP, Microsoft Works, Visual Studio.NET, Active Perl, Visual C++, FORTRAN, PHP, MS Proxy server, a couple of copies of MS SQL Server, a copy of Mozilla, Exchange server, etc, etc, etc?? Because basically that's what you get on 3 RedHat CDs.

You get a few different GUI desktops which would be the equivelant of a couple of XP installs, you get several programming languages, a few different office suites, several browsers, many server applications, a couple of SQL database servers, and many many more applications I have not mentioned, not to mention 10 times the number of cute time waster games (probably more than 10 times). Let's see Microsoft try and fit all of that on 3 CDs...

Come on, that's not nice! (Although I wasn't being very nice when I get pissed off when he said it's Red Hat's fault)...

Exactly. Who is to say? It's there if someone needs it, you don't have to install it. I actually use *most* of what is on those 3 CDs. Just like if I was in a Microsoft environment I would use SQL Server, Proxy Server, Visual Studio, etc, but I don't have to pay $10,000 for all the licenses I would need.

BTW, I don't really care to sit around and play time waster games(ok, I admit I like Solitare ;P) because I'd rather play games like Max Payne, Grand Theft Auto 3, etc.

Maybe you don't, and you have the option not to install them. They were worth it for me to install because my wife likes those time wasters (she's not right).

Really, everything? I have yet to see a CD that has windows, office, visual studio, photoshop, any servers (except remote desktop and iis), a pdf viewer, various internet browsers, a IM program which accepts nearly all protocols, and of course the ability to boot with another, non-microsoft, operating system. I would use all of these things (or at least the linux alternatives), so I wouldn't consider it bloated material. But if you can find all of this on 1 cd, and be able to download the cd for free, please tell me and i may consider accepting your failing arguement.

(EDIT)
Sory void main, I didn't see your post before i posted this, seems like we are on the same track though   ;)

lol@rudecat

Don't worry MOR, the path to l33tness is filled with idiocy.  :D

It is my fault for not noticing the directory, and it is their fault for not updating their links. Surely that's a good compromise? Probably not, it is never the distro's fault, they are providing a free service after all and im a grubby little maggot who should be worshipping the time they spent to bring me their great creation.
