I need to compile a stock kernel for my system because a program I want to use does not like RedHat's kernel. What I wanted to know was, will I have trouble with my sound/network card modules. Do they need to be recompiled?

It is RH8.0 - not that it matters.

Uh, wouldn't it be easier to fix the program rather than changing your kernel? What program, and what is the problem?
Someone please remove this account. Thanks...
