Well, I'm doing it. I'm gonna get another PC and I'm going to put Linux on it. I like OS X... and I'm never switching back to Windows... but for some things, I'd really love to have a PC around... just so I could have a couple of certain games... and to have Linux! I miss the long nights editing the Hell out of an Xconfig file to make it work... and customizing window managers, delving into KDE and Gnome.
So.. what's the best distro for someone who's been a Mac user for nearly two years now, and hasn't even fiddled with Linux since Red Hat 5. I want something that has a fool-proof install, so that I can get everything running right off the bat, so that I can then dick around with it later.
Having a knockout GUI isn't necessary, as I'll customize it anyway, but if it looks nice, there's a better chance I'll have to do less fiddlin'
I'll be dual-booting with 2000 or eXPee pro, so it has to get along well with windoze.
I'm not a n00b... but I haven't kept up with any of the Distros for a long time now, and need a refresher!
