This
shows that Microsoft.com runs on Linux using IIS. I'm a bit confused about how this is possible. Is there IIS for linux?

You can run "Microsoft FrontPage Extentions" and "Microsoft Services for Unix" on Linux, so why not "Microsoft IIS"?
Anyway, I think that it's a weird data mix up between Akamai's servers and Microsoft's servers.

refalm you are sorta right, there is a linux proxy between the IIS server most likely and j00. this happens more than you think, also it could be a spoofed serven name, it is very possible to send a custom server string
as seen here
so it could be a spoofed apache as well.

they have probably changed the server name string. IT is quite possible. Void Main has done it on his server..

Why are you just repeating the same answer the last person gave? And why the hell would Microsoft deliberately make it look like they were running Linux?

no you have it backwards... they are probably using apache and making it look like they are using IIS. Sorry 'bout the confusion.

No, it is actually akamai's caching servers as refalm said.
