Linux in different languages?
« on: 14 September 2002, 02:59 »
I have a Japanese co-worker friend who has been in the states for the last few months and is getting ready to go back to Japan, and is interested in trying out Linux. I was wanting to know if I gave him RedHat 7.3 and he chose Japanese at the start of the install, does it install all in Japanese? He can read some English, but his native Japanese is what he wants to try Linux in and it would make the learning curve shorter for him if he can install Linux in Japanese. Is there a specific version of Linux geared towared Japanese?

Thanks,

Debian will install and run in Japanese; I think it supports about 30 languages.
I'm SERIOUS about Linux; are you??

Thanks for the responses and info. I did some searching in google and found that RedHat has a Japanese site where you can download Japanese version of Redhat 7.3
Again, thanks for all your responses and help, I really enjoy this site and what it has to offer.

Thanks,
