Hardware supported in Linux

They can't really...not enough money.  They make profits but only because they don't.  They could, if...there was a larger user base.

Linux appears to be in a vicious circle at the moment, to get people to use it, you need drivers, but to get most hardware companies to write drivers, it has to have a large enough user base.

I suppose that you check that a piece of hardware supports Linux before you buy it.

I'm sure he does...and it's not a bad idea at all.  You might have to pay more because cheap hardware is the stuff that uses crappy Windoze-only drivers.

I checked out myself, and everything I bought is supported - except my wireless card (I thought it was).
