Most definitely if you ran dos2unix on image files it would have f00ked them up. You don't want to run dos2unix on binary files. What I suspect is that your browser has cached the bad images and is displaying the cached versions. You might try clearing your cache or doing a "touch *.gif *.jpg" on your images to make the timestamp greater than the cached versions. Then do a refresh. They work fine from here although it's slow as watching grass grow.
