I think POR wants to know how to configure Red Hat for Internet connection, actually I could use a little enlightenment on this subject, I'm trying to learn that Distro aswell as Mandrake.

Well if your modem is supported/detected at install time there really isn't much else to do.  If you use KDE you just click the K menu, then "Internet", then "KPPP". You'll need to set up an account in KPPP but it is very much like M$s internet dialer.  If your modem is a winmodem or other non-supported modem then the process can be much more difficult.
