Error = Not a Valid Block Device
« on: 23 December 2002, 13:44 »
When I try to mount my CDRW which is a Master on the Secondary IDE Channel to my DVD ROM it says "mount: /dev/cdrom1 is not a valid block device"

What does this mean?
I can mount my DVD ROM fine, but not my CDRW, it always gives this error on my CDRW drive, never on the DVD

What is the output of:

$ dmesg | grep CD

and

$ ls -l /dev/cdrom1
Someone please remove this account. Thanks...

Code: [Select]

However the disk that won't mount is supposed to mount to /mnt/cdrom
