hey, XP Luser; you should be used to this advice by now:
completely uninstall the OS and re-install.
At least you will have a chance to write down the errors. BTW; till you get your brain working again, go with RH or mandrake. BUY A BOOK. I suggest "Linux Complete" for starters (it's the only book i have had the money to buy so far), it's geared mostly towards red hat (so there's ample use of the 'linuxconfig' gui utility, but it also tells you how to do it manually), so you can make the transition a little easier.
BTW; i run slack 8.1 (for all of 5 months now
). Sure, it has headaches and problems i can't solve right now, but I, unlike you, cannot afford $250 for XP and another $350 for the office pack (just so i can use a f***ing spreadsheet). And I'm not about to pay $65.95 a month for the
privilage of
running my own computer.
