I *assume* you are downloading the "*.iso" CD images? If so, and you are writing your CDs in another version of linux use either "cdrecord" on the command line, or use a graphical app like "xcdroast". If you are on windows (or any other OS) and have CD burning software it should have the capability to write CDs of type "*.iso". The *.iso's are bootable CD images. Although not impossible to create bootable CDs by recreating the CD from the individual files I would not suggest it unless you are an expert. If you really want to do it this hard way there is a HOWTO on how to do it. (search for "creating bootable CDs in Linux") on Google.
Otherwise you *can* just download the floppy boot disk images and do an FTP/network install directly (if you have high speed network). Also I believe there is good info on
