Problems with aMule and xMule
« on: 22 February 2004, 03:00 »
Okay... I installed aMule and everything worked fine I kept getting the message that I need to put a server in addresses.dat to use auto_update and I ignored it. I used the URL in the bar and got a list of servers and connected to a few started downloading abunch of stuff... I then was on my like 7th search and it just closed. I tried to open it again and get the same message this time I click okay and it crashes. And I can't find the folder of where the file is.

I also downloaded xMule after all this too see if it would work same message same crash.

Forget whatever you are using and use overnet and the ed2k_gui frontend.

Run aMule or xMule from the terminal.  The terminal sometimes outputs some useful debugging information for the developers.  It might also be helpful if you posted what the messages you were getting said.

Did you just start downloading something when it crashed?

If you get no debugging info from the output try the following commands:

Code: [Select]

That may also give you some useful information that you may think about passing on to the developers :-D
