Did you check mixer settings?  I know that ALSA drivers are muted by default when they are first installed.

I installed the nvidia drivers. In sound card configureation it says "Vendor : NVIDIA corporation
Model : Unkown devie 10de:006b
Module : unknown "
When i click on play sound nothing comes out of my speakers.

Ijust tried modprobe on the device and this is what i get
[root@localhost root]# modprobe i810_audio
/lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o: init_module: No such d                                                                            evice
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including inva                                                                            lid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.                                                                            4.18-14/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o: insmod i810_audio fail                                                                            ed

I am not quite sure what this means though. I am going to check my bios to make sure it is enabled and see what IRQ it is..
