SuSE 8.1 looks pretty cool

http://www.suse.com/us/private/products/suse_linux/i386/overview.html

Can't wait until next month to lay my hands on it, only this time I'll buy the Professional edition instead of the Personal, it seems there are a few functionalities which lack in the Personal edition.

Yast2 still refuses to update btw

Looks pretty cool indeed, especially KDE 3.0.3 in those snapshots. I've also read that it will be easier than ever to install (even easier than 8.0) and configure your hardware, which by the way SuSE promises to be automatically recognized and configured with a mouse click (what does that remind you of?)  ;)  .

Yeah well, the installation needed only a few mouseclicks indeed, it was right after the installation that I still could click but couldn't see what I was clicking on anymore  :D
USB 2.0 support right out of the box is pretty impressive too.

Did you manage to get Yast working?

Yes, I did. I actually posted it in your previous thread. The server I used was ftp.suse.com. Like I wrote in the previous thread you started, I think the problem was when I was trying to download KDE 3.0.2 and especially the kdebase packages. When I decided to download all the other updates except for KDE 3.0.2 it worked. I don't know if it was just coincidental or really the problem. Hope that helps  ;)
