Alcatel speedtouch ADSL and Mandrake
« on: 27 April 2002, 14:23 »
I wonder if anyone can help. I have bought the full CD set of Mandrake Linux 8.1 which seems really good and easy to install. The problem is I have an Alcatel Speedtouch USB ADSL modem and I can't get the thing to run. I have been to the Alcatel site and downloaded the driver and then onto a variety of other sites for Linux drivers and instructions which I think I have followed but no luck. I'm not very familiar with the Unix command line so I'm struggling. Isn't there someone out there that can help me. Wouldn't it be great if someone could develop a self installing *.exe type file, Windows does sometimes have an advantage.

Thanks,
