Accelerated X vs. XFree86
« on: 25 September 2003, 17:36 »
No this is not a discussion. I am informing you (if you dont know) that Xi Graphics commercial Accerated-X sucks ass.

It does not support *any* nvidia cards! It does not support any new ATI cards! It doesn't have monitor profiles for any HPs, and probably a fuck load ofothers. It doesn't know how to start when there is already an X server running, The combination of these tells me that this is not worth ANY money, and that XFree86 is a much better and much more hardware-supported X vendor.

The only way I could've run it was in VGA. Meaning no acceleration. Most people with high-end graphics cards would get... no acceleration at all. Not in 2D, not in 3D. It's pathetic.
