Mandrake 9.1 install problems...

I'm trying to install Mandrake 9.1 on my PC... 1.7ghz Celeron, 256mb ram, 40gb hd... The installer gives me a "signal 4" error, then unmounts everything and tells me to reboot...

Win98 is currently installed, and I'd like to make the machine dual bootable (don't ask, my sisters actually like Cumguzlersoft stuff...)

This is something I'd expect from Borg shit... how can I correct this problem and finally liberate my machine from the Collective?

Can Mandrake be installed without the install automatically installing a boot loader?

yes, you can install it and then have it write a boot disk to access you linux partitions.  That operation is built into the install.

You may have downloaded an ISO but it got corrupted, md5sum it.  For more info on that, http://www.google.com.  And as for the Mandrake w/ no bootloader, its possible.
