The European version of Redhat DOES have multimedia applications unlike the ones that people complain about when they see there are no music proggies!

No, you just need the xmms plug-in for Mp3s, and you need to download the xine RPMs (with the DVDcss), to view encrypted DVDs (that you paid for and own*) it's quite easy with RPMs.
Whatever it is you think you are missing, you can get it......

*rant: Why the fuck would we have to use software/hardware that pays a licensing fee so we can watch a DVD that we fucking paid for and OWN!!?

Another reason the public is turning to P2P....

Or...Maybe I just misunderstood your post, you have Redhat, or you don't have Redhat, what/who is complaining?

I have the US version of RHL8 and it was easy to download RPM's for mplayer, xine, ogle, etc.  so don't despair.  Thankfully linux programs are very small downloads compared to similar Windows apps (case in point, GIMP is a 10 meg download while Photoshop is a 150 (at least) MB program)

Yeah, what apps? If you can find a link to what is included on this multimedia CD I can probably give you simple istructions on how to get all of these apps installed easily without the MultiMedia CD. There are only a couple that I downloaded that weren't included (mpg123, Xine, and MPlayer, about 10 minutes of download/install time using "apt" over a cable connection).
Someone please remove this account. Thanks...
