Problem with RedHat 7.2/7.3
« on: 29 July 2002, 21:49 »
The install doesn't seem to like my SCSI cards.

The SCSI cards are both Adaptec AIC 7896, and they are both built in (I think...) to the server.  The installation seems to lock up when trying to load the drivers for it.

However, Redhat 6.2 seems to work fine.  In fact, that's what I'm using right now.  Also, earlier versions of TurboLinuux and Slackware do well with it as well.  Any ideas?

And no XP Loser, I am NOT switching to XP.  I'm not using my OS to surf the net for gay porn, I'm running 6 servers, half Win2k (which I have been quite surprised by, even though it's still Windows) and half Redhat 6.2., and we are using it for BUSINESS, and can't afford bloat.

Using a Microsoft product and hating every moment of it is the first step to liberation.

This bug looks very similar to yours:

Maybe you could try the aic7xxx_mod driver as the person did in this bug report?
Someone please remove this account. Thanks...
