NVidia driver problems
« on: 9 November 2002, 17:55 »
At the moment I am using Mandrake 8.0 and have followed the walkthrough to install the NVidia drivers on Mandrake however I always get the error "Failed to initalize the NVdriver kernel module!". Both of the compiles worked properly and I correctly updated the XF86Config-4 file so what gives?

My setup is:
Duron 800mhz
GeForce Ti200
512mb Ram
SB Live! value
..
.

I am running 2.4.3 kernel and I compiled the drivers with this kernel.
I am also running XFree86 4.0.3 which is required.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.
//this is how I was born :)

cat /dev/urandom > /dev/mybrain

Tip for win98 (l)users: type copy /con/con in your command prompt to increase stability

If you are running a stock Mandrake 8.0 kernel you might want to try and install the binary Mandrake RPM. Not sure what class the Duron falls in (I think it's 586). You can download the NVchooser to tell you which one you need.

NVidia downloads.
