RedHat is moving into the corporate world... what a surprise... they are actually trying to make money now.  I hope only good happens, but we shall see.

BTW, I totally support what they are doing not only in the "right" to do it, but their "need" to do it, in order to pull in more revenue.

Well they can keep the use of their RedHat name if they want... but asking people to remove the name Redhat and meta tags from vendor websites sounds a bit extreme.

can they sue you for selling something on ebay? I don't think so. Anyway, if the the redhat art package is released under GPL (i believe it is) then Redhat should not ask ppl to remove the redhat art package. The trademark thing yeah, I can see.

I support Redhat for defending it's trademarks. But I think they are a bit wrong for the ebay thing...

FFS, I hope they don't go too much farther with this sorta thing. Redhat are susposed to be the good guys, even if they are the biggest distro company, they are still susposed to be good.  :(

They're not a giant corporation, and I'd assume the founder is still in control quite a bit. So maybe they don't have to go any more corrupt. I mean with this as their only infraction, this doesn't seem too scary.

my first thoughts when seeing "XXX-XXX" listed on http://www.tuxcds.com: "what the hell... xxx-xxx... hmm... ooooh R.E.D.-H.A.T." NOWHERE do they actually say the phrase "red hat". The poor website just has to assume you'll figure it out, i guess
