Hi everybody,

is there a driver and utilities for the Lifeview Flyvideo 2000 Tv capture card for the RedHat Linux 8 operating system?

Thanx,
Daniel

A google search with nearly your exact question revealed this:

http://webvcrplus.sourceforge.net/howto.html

Which has that card under the "supported" list.

The drivers are included in the kernel so you should already have them. Read over the "bttv" site:

http://bytesex.org/bttv/

This is the kernel module (driver) that does the low level IO on the card. It is included with my RH8 distro and the module is already built and ready to load on a default install.

As far as software I believe the bttv site also mentions a few apps like video4linux, Xawtv, etc. I also believe that you can use the popular Xine player which also plays web video formats, DVDs, etc. But I don't have a TV card so I can't say for sure. The only reason I can think of for having one is for capturing video (which reminds me that "kino", an excellent DV studio app, also supports TV cards).
