finaly installed redhat on my ye olde 900mz machine need a media player oh yeah so much for linux being oh so very stable ive had it crash on me 3 times when i was moving the clock along the taskbar oh jou

Mplayers got some more baddass features (being able to watch movies with aalib in the console, or on your favorite vt220 serial terminal).

^True. Xine might be a bit easier for a newbie though. Maybe try xine for a few hours, then try mplayer.

try xine... i installed that and it didnt require anywhere near the battle it took to install mplayer. but then again, it's me... somebody for whom nothing goes rit!
