Webmin...

Please excuse the ignorance of my question but how do I open webmin in my web browser?  I been all over the internet searching for how to open this thing and have found great tutorials on how to use Webmin but none of them tell me how to open it.

I remember I have to type something into the address bar but I forgot what that was.

Oh, if it matters, I am running Mandrake 9.1.

Note the https... webmin uses SSL unless it has been disabled.

Since Caldera bought webmin, and SCO is suddenly very anti-open source, I'm wondering how much longer it will survive.

Yep!  rpmDrake says that webmin has already been installed on my system.  I'll keep trying to get it to work in the meantime.

Ok, I got it to work.  I had to go into a terminal, log on as root, and type "webmin."

Correction. Caldera DEVELOPED Webmin, and distributed it under the GPL. It doesn't matter if SCO is anti-OSS or not.

Quick question:

I am trying to set up a DHCP server using webmin and I keep getting this error when I try to start the server:

What does it mean "spans multiple subnets?"  I only have one subent defined.   :confused:

SCO's funding matters if there aren't enough independent developers who are willing to continue  the Webmin project.  GPL is only one half of the equation.  Reality is the other half.  Look at the state of development of the OpenAL project after Loki died.

I'm having problems with Webmin too. I installed it and can access it through the box it is installed on, but through no others. I type in :10000]http://[ipaddy]:10000 and get 404 errors.

I'm using Mandrake 9.0

check in the config files, it might be only binding to 127.0.0.1, it might be in the webmin configs when ur in there. you might also have a firewall running.

I've figured it out. Firewall was blocking port 10000 from accessing the net... or something like that.
