New and have ?'s

OK, I have a few beggining questions before I download Mandrake 9.1

What is in you opinions the best all around media player?

I have integrated graphics will it work?

When I install Linux, will it almost automatically partition for me?

Whick is the fastest site to get Mandrake from?

And lastly, when I install stuff, will it be like windows where there is a wizard?

1) xine
2) almost definitely
3) yep but it's probably better to do it yourself... partitioning advice can be found on google, at the linux documentation project or elsewhere on this forum.
4) whichever mirror is closest to you/has the best bandwidth!
5) close enough to... actually in my opinion easier.
just double click the .rpm file and there you go...
6) share between two OS's or share on a network?  either will cause no slowdown - sharing over network may slow you down if everyone grabs 700 meg isos of you every 3 seconds but that would happen in any OS.

Well, when ya install Linux it will have you setup the bootloader. Probably have Linux, Failsafe, and Windows automatically set up. Just be sure to set whichever one you want as default so that after you reboot it will either automatically go to the default, or you can arrow down to tho other OS.

It's been a while since I've used mplayer so I'll apt-get install it tonight and have another look.
I also agree that some of the Xine skins come with shoddy UI's but I think some are fine - take LCD for instance.  Maybe it's just something your not used to...

For video (mpg, avi, etc.) Xine all the way.
Personally, for mp3 and other audio, I like the look and feel of xmms.

For the most part it will, although I would probably partiton it myself so I could set it up for future expansion.

Unfortunately not, but it is fairly easy w/ RPMs (1 command). And the hardes would be tarballs, which are like 3-4 commands.  No big deal really.

Having more than one OS on your computer is more like second nature to me (I have at least 3).  Doesn't slow ur computer down, just takes up HD space.
