RPM find doesnt have it and i cant be arsed looking through 7 mandrake CD's!!!

that and Mandrake provides an RPM tool in which you can search for an "installable" packages -- it keeps a database on your hard drive.

Oh yeah, I forgot I can use package manager, or another one of the gui tools. I usually install RPM's from the command line and didnt really think, so thanks

I have found it!!!! It is part of the alsa libraries (which now seem glaringly obvious), thanks for pointing me in the right direction Voidman.
