Hey.

I just installed XFce and it is fuckin slick. Looks and speed! This will difenently free me up some space.

I have a prob tho.
How do i get apps like gaim and xmms to work? They both kinda half work. in gaim u can open then it sends your password and then dies just as your buddies come up and in xmms you can open the program but not play any music.
Help us out! I reckon if i get this working XFce will be my WM of choice.

I think I'd go to the XFCE webpage; I've never used either of the app's you're having touble with, but the XFCE homepage does have quite a bit of info.  If I had to guess, I'd say it's a config problem, maybe your paths aren't pointing at the correct locations.
I'm SERIOUS about Linux; are you??

xfce is great! i have never had any problem running any apps in it, except for some gnome integrated stuff, which i really suggest you steer clear of. gnome-terminal is okay, but nautilus and gnome-text-editor for example are RIGHT out.

you can download my first skin that i made for XFce at www.orkney.cjb.net if you like! you will need to have xfskin installed to use it though.

Glad you like XFce, doogee, it is my favourite desktop after careful deliberation!
