obivously nothings impossible so....
Is there a way to serial link a windows computer to a linux machine and then have the Linux machine forward the internet to the windows machine from a network it is connected to?
Here is the situation:
I have two computer upstairs in my house and two computers downstairs. My hub is upstairs, i have 1 50-foot network cable that is connecting my linux machine which is downstairs to the hub. My proxy server is upstairs.
I have my windows machine downstairs but no 50-foot network cable to connect it to the hub, so i want to link my two computers which are downstairs together. Can i use a null-modem on the serial ports? (or USB ports)?
Or should i try to find two network cards and cross connect them?
