Mouse

mouse dilemma (in OpenBSD):
I started X and then when i try to move the mouse (while it is over an xterm) the xterm starts shootin out commands (even ones that dont exist) and the mouse goes all erratic in the bottom left corner of the screen. The log file for X says:
Mouse1: Write to Mouse failed

it says that many times. I ran xf86config and configured it to use a ps/2 mouse and left the other parts of the mouse default (the name i think was the only other thing). Is there something else that i need to configure differently for the mouse to get it to work?
