Linux Kernal Configurator

I got a quick question, after I make some changes to it and hit apply a little message box pops up and says:

Your kernel configuration has been saved.
You need to run 'make symlinks dep' now.

I try it in a terminal and it says:

make: *** No rule to make target `symlinks'.  Stop.

Anyone know what I should do here?
