Now, I just KNOW you're using Linux; which distro? Have you compiled the kernel with SCSI support (you have to emulate SCSI devices to burn CD's in Linux>0 cdrecord is the basic burning application for Linux; there are a LOT of GUI app's, most of which are just graphical versions of cdrecord. My PERSONAL opinion is to use cdrecord if you have a limited amount of RAM; why run Xwindow+a window manager while you're burning a CD? (Yes, I know Linux is a true multi-tasking system; I just don't like buffer under-runs).
