I hope those morons at MSN chat won't go to IRC instead...

And who the fuck is going to pay to chat in a chatroom? There are millions of free other ones...

I have never actaully been in a chat room, I have only ever used IM clients.

so I can't say whether or not MS is right for trying to block out SPAMMERS and Creeps.
