GPL is meaningless

Have a look at this!

Does this mean we can see a future where the free software movement really IS declared illegal? or will it just mean that UNIX will have to keep its file formats to itself and vice versa to avoid legal action? if i find a more pertinent (ie news) item regarding this i'll post it here also...

This is just another example of how our country is consuming itself in lawsuits.. Selfish assholes think that money grows on trees and dont realize that they destroy great accomplishments with their greed. Everyone's just too disconnected man... Or at least some of us should be..  :(

This article refered to lawsuits involving the GPL and how they were lost.....to my knowledge the GPL has never been "tested" in a court of law anywhere on the planet.

The article Calum points to has no details........if anyone has any details please post it here.

God save the GPL.

Its about fucking time someone challenges the GPL.  If the GPL gets beat down then it becomes an open oppurtunity to beat down the Microsoft Liscense.  The GPL is a legally binding liscense you invoke by use of the software.  Same with the MS liscense.  What makes one greater then the other?  Court interpretation.  Lets see how this goes.
