fury's build of GNUstep running on Komodo pretty much default right now



GNUstep running on Mac OS X via Apple X11. The appearance of titlebars & colors is how GenSTEP will look.

Ok, Im confused. What am I looking at? The first screenshot looks like a normal Windowmaker screenshot, am I missing something?

The second screenshot looks like MacOS X running X11 and Windowmaker, what am I missing?

Looks nice so far Jimmy...are you gonna skin Windowmaker later?  Looks rather standard right now.  

When I first saw the second pic I thought you were cloning OSX.  :D

Preacher, stop thinking about Windowmaker... it's nothing but a component of GNUstep. the first screenshot is of GNUstep running full out on Komodo 2004. this is truly the first screenshot of what will become GenSTEP.

The second shot is of Windowmaker with Gnome on OS X, yes. but, as I said, the appearance of it there is the same as what will be the default GenSTEP appearance.

insomnia, she's not ready yet... we should have something ready soon, though.

Will is preparing for an alpha of Komodo... Black should follow soon after.

no, it looks about 95% OPENSTEP :-p

wow... just happens that WindowMaker, being the official GNUstep windowmanager, is identical to the OPENSTEP window decorations!

Probably not. We'll most likely keep the default appearance being the classic OPENSTEP style with the color fade. There'll be nothing stopping you from changing colors or options using Windowmaker's normal mechanisms. And you'll be completely free to change to a different WM altogether if you like.

As I showed in the screenie with OS X, GNUstep can even run alongside Gnome (note the Gnome panel at the bottom, and the gnome-mc icons on the desktop.
