I beg your pardon? Darwin and OpenStep are NOT the same than Linux or FreeBSD, other than source compatibility and UNIX heritage. The *BSD's are more consistent than Linux as far as configuration and layout goes, and OpenStep and Darwin are even more so. How many UNIX operating systems do you know whose software installation process involves simply sliding its folder in the Applications directory?
