ummm, carmack ported doom to linux cuase "it gave me a boner" or something like that. besides, carmack likes linux, so there is probably  going to be a linux version of doom III, and for that matter the linux version will probably work better then the windows version anyway, kinda like the linux version of quake2 and quake3. even quake1.

ppc: the fruity way
mips: the graphical way
sparc: the sunny way
4:20.....forget the DMCA for a while!!!

Hey Ice9, I read somewhere that you need to install openAL to get sound for windows games. I attempted to install it, but no luck.

I'll give it a try, but I don't think it's gonna make much difference since Q3 is not a Windows game.
I extracted the game data from the Windows cd yes, but the executable is the Linux point release, so there's nothing Windows to it anymore ....
