when is macromedia going to be smart enough to program a flash version for linux?

I know MACOS has a version but why not linux?

On the contrary, I believe that people will buy it, if the folks at Macromedia make up their minds finally and release a version for Linux! The same goes for Apple and QuickTime  as well!

also, now macromedia have opened the format up, it's only a matter of time before somebody starts making an open source linux flash creator, if macromedia want to get some of the action (i doubt it, they are probably stupid enough to believe the "linux users are cheapskates"FUD that certain people spread around) then they will have to be quick about it.

Actually I heard they were going to port Dreamweaver MX over to Linux.  Flash MX may be also.  Just a rumor...neither confirmed or denied...

all the more reason to send them a lot of emails NOW, have you ever heard of vapourware? it doesn't work as well in the open source world, but i bet there's somebody out there now thinking "i could make a flash program, or i could wait for the macromedia port, fuck it, i'll wait".

Strange. I've sent several mails to Macromedia in the past, with the same subject but never got a response.   :confused:  

At least you got one man, so that means that they've started thinking about it and that's definitely an improvement.

saying nobody would buy it is a little presumptuous.

recently, schools in some parts of the US and Canada have been putting Linux on their computer because it saves the schoolboard thousands of dollars. the school is a HUGE base for software. my school has a copy of Flash (the creator one) on all of the computers in the CTS lab (computer room for development, not just word/excel type stuff). if school boards started switching to Linux left and right, Flash could find a serious Linux user base.

Those kind of applications are what persuade people to stick with the winBlows headache, because they have no alternative on GNU/Linux for what apps they use in winBlows, except the MAC OSX.

I am thinking of writing a letter to MacroMedia
