I dont, these were me testing.
I use XMMS and X-Chat. testing winamp and mIRC were for fun, to see what they'd look like in Mandrake.

All i want is to get is CS working!

Im no big gamer, just i am in a clan, and i enjoy playing that one game.
And i cba to restart to the windows partition just to play CS.

hmmm I cannot get half-life or any of it's mods working either. As soon as i create a new game (SP or MP) it outputs some random junk to the console and the app freezes.

Im using RH8 with the standard kernel & glibc version.
//this is how I was born :)

cat /dev/urandom > /dev/mybrain

Tip for win98 (l)users: type copy /con/con in your command prompt to increase stability

i heard from a very reliable source (Starts with Void, ends in Main) that Wine(x) works better with a stock kernel.

I dont know how you would go building one of these, i know how to do it but its quite a long process.

By stock kernel i mean no patches (2.4.19, 2.4.20)

If you are willing to do this you could let us know and we can point you in the right direction (off to the MES FAQ.)

Lucky for you all I finally found the WineX FAQ I have written and sent it off to VoidMain to host.
Contains scenes of mild peril.

And here it is:

Quirk, mirror that to MES FAQ when you have time.
Thanks.

Some good information there.  Maybe ill give ol linux another try.  I was having constant problems with winex.  I just want to be able to play my games in linux.  Basically the only reason I still use winxp.

IF you want easy installs use RPM's.  Download a program called Alien you can turn Tar files into RPM files or so they say Never used it myself.
