Any decent Linux download managers?
« on: 19 March 2003, 14:39 »
I just wanted to know which download manager for Linux is the best and easiest to use for a linux newbie.  I have used net vampire and download accelerator on windows and like both of these so something similar would be gr8.

i like to sue "wget" its a console based downloader, but its easy to use. All you have to do is type "wget http://place.com/todl/from" after opening a terminal.it works for both ftp and http.

for my money i used to like 'd4x' (which is actually called 'nt' after you install it, for some reason) and i now like to use gtm which suits my needs perfectly and has the advantage of being able to communicate directly with galeon, so you can make it your default downloader in galeon simply by ticking a box in galeon's preferences.
