AutoPKG 0.5.4 (Stable)

AutoPKG lets you keep your Slackware system up to date.
It functions similarly to apt-get, the Debian package manager.

How exactly does this work? It downloads and installs the packages? If so then this will certainly help me in my quest to make slackware my OS of choice.

I don't know that exactly, I went to the project page on sourceforge, there's a screenshot.
They claim it functions similarly to apt-get
But I think it's only console-based, no GUI.

the portupgrade port in FreeBSD will help automate upgrading.  used in conjunctionii with two other ports.  A script could easily be run to automat ehtem and it could be cron-ed as well.
