unmountable CDs
« on: 26 October 2002, 21:17 »
i dled the redhat 8.0 CDs and checked the MD5sum and they were all good, but after burning them onto blanked CD/RWs disc 2 and 3 wont work. I can mount disc 1 but not disc 2 or 3. I have burned disc 2 twice and it still wont work. Is there something i may have done wrong when blanking the CD? I am using Xcdroast.

RRS said he had trouble with CDRW discs. I rarely have trouble with them. How did you blank them, blank=fast? You might try a blank=all and burn at a slower speed. Dunno, maybe some drives are more sensitive than others. I installed RH8 on several machines from CDRW discs that I burned with cdrecord (which is also what Xcdroast uses).
Someone please remove this account. Thanks...
