SCO turns to the dark side

Well SCO now says that the linux kernel ripped off their super special SCO kernel, but they won't give any proof because then the linux people would "launder it" and then they can't sue RedHat and SuSe.

WTF!  I'm so incredibly pissed off right now.  I used to love Caldera.  I've run their stuff for years.  I've paid for their official OpenLinux distributions.  Now I realize that Caldera is dead. In its place is this shameless, useless company named SCO who seems hell bent on alienating every one in the world.

I see two things happening here

1) SCO wins the law suit and then feeling justified runs with the pr momentum and sues SuSE and Redhat

2) SCO loses the law suit and feeling desperate sues SuSE and Redhat

Now Linux finds out who its friends really are.
IBM, HP, Oracle, everyone, but Microsoft and SCO.

Who will offer financial, or general support when Linux comes under fire?

This could actually cause a rift in the entire computing industry depending on who the titans favour.

I would like to say just shrug it off and belive its just FUD.  but SCO is so FUCKED UP, that this will likey come to life.

They make little money off of their SuSE clone Caldera, and no one wants to pay for UNIX.  They will have to turn into a publishing company to survive.  Complaining to every court in the country about even the most minor of copyright infringement.

I hope the two best of some many greats ( SuSE , Redhat) aren't sent to the history books over this.  I don't want to tell people about what Linux WAS!   :mad:

I don't see any chance of SCO winning this case. All they'll manage to do in the end, is make an ass of themselves. On a second thought, they've done it already.
