Maya for Linux?
« on: 2 July 2002, 03:36 »
I would very much like to start learning Maya.  So, I thought i'd download the personal learning version.  Trouble is, Alias|Wavefront only makes Mac OS X and (blech) windows 2k/XP versions.  Do any of you know where I can "obtain" a Linux version of Maya?

I asked alias about that and they say linux version not planed at the moment, may change in the future.
I haven't tried it under vmware, because turning windoze on turns me off... but I'll try that in the next coupla weeks and give report. I actually prefer using vmware for running other linux virt boxen on the machine, like engarde linux that is my web/ftp/mail server.
