I connected the cat5 cable into my ethernet card reinstalled Linux because it was corrupted of my HD Failing so I deleted all the partitions and put in Linuxduring the install it found eth0 but couldnt find the connection and after It was installed it doesn't work, how would I make it work on eth0? it worked on eth1 through USB but I'm using that on another PC can anybody tell me how to make it on eth0 (My ethernet card) Linux found the card on the install but it can't get a response I don't have a firewall....

what are the settings for it? (auto-detect, static, dns...)
in the shell as root when you do:
# ifup eth0
what happens?
can you ping your other computer that is using the usb connection?

Also, what distro are you using and what version? It's good to know b/c each distro does the ethernet configuration files differently.
